The Difference Between CBD Flower and THC Content

When people think of THC and CBD, they usually think of Marijuana and hemp. That may be because that's all they know, but not all strains of cannabis contain CBD. In fact, some strains are only grown for the sake of the CBD content; to make them grow more slowly or grow with better shape and structure. And CBD is not the same as THC, which is a psychoactive ingredient found in marijuana. You will find both of those listed as "other" drugs on the ingredients label, but CBD is actually completely legal without a prescription in the United States. If you were wondering if CBD is harmful, the answer is no. The short answer: mixed. A CBD flower is simply one that has been bred specifically to increase the level of CBD present in the flower. They may be hemp flowers which already have very little to no THC, or they may be other strains of cannabis bred to raise the amount of CBD present in the flower. Regardless of the exact composition, the CBD in these flowers has no psychoactive effects on the user. But is CBD dangerous? While there have been very few studies on this topic, one thing that can be said about both cannabis and CBD is that they have a very low shelf life when exposed to heat, light, air-conditioning, moisture, or any number of other variables outside of manufacturer-controlled environments. Even when kept in the proper temperature range (room temperature is best), CBD will begin to degrade shortly after harvest, meaning you'll need to keep your CBD flowers fresh at all times. Also, keeping pre-rolled joints fresh and out of direct exposure to humidity requires the consistent freezing/thawing cycle which is only possible if the plant is kept in a dark environment, which means keeping your CBD flower fresh. So, what are the differences between CBD and THC? Well, aside from the fact that CBD is much stronger than THC, it does not contain as much of the psychoactive substance. However, the CBD in hemp flower contains a very large concentration of the "good stuff", which makes the CBD extremely effective when used as a medicine. When using it as medicine, it is combined with other healing herbs such as Chamomile, Passionflower, and Lemon Balm. Other ingredients to look for are Vitamin E, and several others. Research into the effectiveness of CBD is still ongoing; therefore, it is best to use it with caution when applying it to ailments. But why should someone opt for CBD over THC? In short, CBD is much more affordable. It also contains less of the psychoactive substance found in cannabis. Additionally, it is an oil-free substance, which means it does not build up in the mucous membranes of the lungs or cause any undesirable side effects. Overall, a CBD infused product makes a great alternative to THC, which may be more effective but also causes more harm than good. In conclusion, both CBD and THC content in the flower are very important, because one does not contain as much of the harmful substance found in cannabis, while the other has more therapeutic value. Therefore, it is up to the consumer to decide which one they want. However, it would be wiser to get CBD infused products, because they contain less of the dangerous chemicals, and more therapeutic benefits. If you are interested in trying this new form of medicine, make sure to talk to your doctor first.
